Carbonic Smog

Carbonic Smog was started in the mid-eighties in Central NJ (Middlesex County) by founding members Worm, Mold, Roach, and Snot. Smog showed masterful propaganda skills as they started a fanzine called Wreaking Chaos which focused on Smog as the centerpiece. It also included interviews with current and future stars like: GG Allin, Biohazard, Genocide, Helmet, Mucky Pup, and Warzone; among others. Smog played some shows including the infamous “17 Second Show”. This show was at the East Brunswick Vo-Tech talent show around 1987 or 88. The rehersal for this “talent” show was Carbonic Smog’s first rehersal ever. So when ther show’s director heard the sweet sounds pouring from the amplifiers, she quickly moved Smog from opening act to HEADLINERS!(only because she didn’t want people to get up and leave) So, luckily for the band, the set was cut short just seconds into the 1st song by a MOB scene on the stage, when about 80 students and visitors swarmed the stage and started a mosh pit right on stage! Among those swarming the stage was then Vice Principal Mr. Popiak, who was knocked down in the ruckus. He wasted no time in suspending the 3 members of the band who attended the school at the time. Reportedly 3 students’ parents removed thier kids from the school after seeing the “17 Second Show”. Smog reformed in the early 90′s with Mold on Vocals, Worm on Guitar, Troy Go on Drums, and Shmegma on Bass. They played a couple shows with Static Season and Gutwrench. There are a few demo recordings floating around, and more on the way… We’re not here for your comfort, were here for your displeasure…

Here is a demo from 1993 called Stacked To The Sky…
